1. Aspen, Colorado

Although Aspen is best known as a winter ski resort, fall is almost more stunning. The mountains and valleys of Aspen are lined with rows and rows of, you guessed it, aspen trees! Unlike maples that usually turn shades of red and orange, aspens turn an eye-catching bright yellow. Aside from the scenic drives, there’s plenty to explore in the area.

2. Columbia River Gorge, Oregon
